Agile, due to its adaptive, incremental and collaborative approach, has become culturally embedded within organisations as the optimum way to manage most projects.
We believe that Agile (with Scrum and Kanban) is currently the best solution to use for software development and similar collaborative projects, particularly in Transformation & Change teams…
The Forgotten Employees
…however, a large proportion of office personnel have sole responsibility for delivery of their projects and tasks. They don’t need to work in a Scrum team, as they produce most of the outputs themselves. These personnel are expected to pivot in response to changing requirements, on a daily basis. They do not have management’s support, to batch their work into an uninterrupted two-week Sprint.
Missing Capability
The biggest problem these office personnel face, is their ability to prioritise effectively and see into the future, so that alternative action can be taken ahead of time. Without this ability, they don’t manage stakeholder expectations properly, miss deadlines and damage their credibility along with the organisation’s performance. To ensure our methodology can be put into practice, we’ve built an app called the Progressive Planning Tool and integrated our methodology into it. This will ensure the methodology is consistently implemented across your entire organisation.
We made a strategic choice to build our tool in MS Excel. It has been developed to a high professional standard and behaves like a regular app that simply sits on the desktop of each user. This has enabled us to:
- Charge a tiny fraction of the cost compared to other tech companies.
- Only charge once, without ongoing subscription costs.
- Not require provision of app updates, with every Operating System update.
- Ensure your data is stored on your servers / computers, not ours.
- Still provide all the functionality you actually need.
